Turkish Butter Cookies (Kurabiye)

Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Mix the ingredients:
In a large bowl, beat the butter at room temperature along with the glazing sugar and vanilla essence until the mixture is smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the sifted flour and salt to the butter mixture, and mix slowly until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough.
Shape the cookies:
With your hands, take small portions of the dough and shape balls the size of a walnut. Then flatten them slightly with the palm of your hand.
Place the cookies in the baking tray, leaving a little space between them, as they won’t spill much when baking.
