1. In a large Dutch oven or pot, combine pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, salt, and water.
2. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
3. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Remove from heat and stir in powdered fruit pectin.
5. Return to high heat and bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
6. Boil for 1 minute, or until jam has thickened.
7. Remove from heat and immediately pour into clean jars or containers.
8. Seal jars or containers and let stand at room temperature for 24 hours before refrigerating.
