Do you have any recipes from your childhood that you still crave? Philly cheesesteak sloppy is one of those recipes for me. I know it’s not fancy nor is it good for me but I still absolutely love it. My mom and dad made it for us often while we were growing up and it has always been one of my very favorite breakfasts. Since it’s not good for any of us, I only make this recipe once a year, usually for my birthday.
Philly cheesesteak sloppy joes came about when I went to make our regular sloppy joes recipe and was missing some ingredients. It is meaty, flavor-packed, and cheesy all on a toasted brioche bun.
One day my mom was telling me how she only uses my sloppy joes recipe now instead of her old recipe. It totally made me crave them so when I went to make them I realized I was lacking ingredients so we made a Philly version and have been sold ever since! • 1 lb lean ground beef
• 1 yellow onion finely diced
• 1 green pepper chopped
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
• 1 cup beef broth
• ¼ cup A-1 Steak Sauce
• 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
• sliced provolone cheese
• hamburger buns, sliders, etc.
