Recipe: Honey Baked Ham Christmas Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 spiral-cut ham, bone-in or boneless (7-9 pounds)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove the ham from its packaging and place it in a shallow roasting pan or baking dish.
- In a small saucepan, combine the honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the glaze is smooth and slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Pour half of the glaze over the ham, using a brush or spoon to coat it evenly.
- Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and brush the ham with the remaining glaze. Return it to the oven and continue baking, uncovered, for an additional 30-45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C), basting occasionally with pan juices.
- Once the ham is cooked through and caramelized on the outside, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the Honey Baked Ham warm, garnished with fresh herbs or fruit, if desired.
