Homemade garlic buns

Instructions:

1. Preparing the Dough:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and instant yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add melted butter, granulated sugar, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the flour to the wet ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

2. Rising the Dough:

  • Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

3. Shaping the Buns:

  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air bubbles.
  • Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a smooth ball.
  • Place the shaped buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving some space between each bun for expansion.

4. Second Rise:

  • Cover the shaped buns with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for an additional 30-45 minutes until puffy.
