4 steaks (sirloin, ribeye, or your preferred cut), about 1 inch thick
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons butter
2 sprigs fresh rosemary (optional)
For the Potatoes:
4-5 medium-sized potatoes, washed and cubed
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
1. Preparing the Steak:
Take the steaks out of the fridge about 20-30 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.
Pat dry the steaks with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Once the skillet is hot, carefully place the steaks in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time according to your desired level of doneness. Use tongs to flip the steaks.
In the last minute of cooking, add minced garlic, butter, and fresh rosemary to the skillet. Tilt the skillet slightly and spoon the melted butter over the steaks continuously. This will infuse them with flavor. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
