Delicious Ribeye steak recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 ribeye steak
  • Sea salt flakes
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 50g butter
  • 2 sprigs of thyme
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed (leave skin on for added flavor)

How to Make Ribeye Steak

  1. Prepare the Steak
Remove the steak from the fridge at least 30 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature. This helps ensure even cooking throughout.
  2. Season Generously
When ready to cook, sprinkle a generous amount of sea salt and black pepper on both sides of the steak, ensuring even coverage.
  3. Heat the Pan
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. If cooking more than one steak, ensure the pan is large enough to fit both comfortably, or use two pans if needed.
  4. Cook the Steak
Place the steak in the hot pan and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, adjusting based on thickness and desired doneness.

    • For a 3cm-thick steak: About 5 minutes total should achieve medium-rare.
    • Temperature Guide: 50°C (rare), 60°C (medium), 70°C (well done).
  5. Add Butter, Thyme, and Garlic
After flipping the steak the first time, add butter, thyme, and garlic to the pan. Baste by tilting the pan so the butter pools at the bottom, then spoon it repeatedly over the steak for 1 minute.
  6. Rest the Steak
Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes. This step is crucial, as resting allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a tender and juicy bite.
  7. Slice and Serve
Slice the steak into strips, season lightly if desired, and serve with your favorite sides and sauce.

Enjoy this indulgent, mouth-watering steak cooked to perfection!
