Instructions for Making Delicious Crab Salad
Step 1: Prepare the Crab Meat
- If using fresh crab, ensure that it is fully cooked, then carefully pick through the meat to remove any shell fragments.
- For lump or imitation crab, roughly chop it into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
Step 2: Mix the Vegetables and Herbs
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped celery, red bell pepper, red onion, and cucumber (if using).
- Add the fresh dill to the vegetables and stir until evenly combined.
Step 3: Prepare the Dressing
- In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and garlic powder until smooth and creamy.
- Season the dressing with a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the lemon juice for brightness if needed.
Step 4: Combine the Salad
- Gently fold the crab meat into the vegetable mixture in the large bowl.
- Pour the dressing over the salad and toss lightly to coat all ingredients. Be careful not to over-mix, as the crab meat can break down.
Step 5: Chill and Garnish
