Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Decadent Chocolate Brigadeiro Cake
Step 1: Prepare the Chocolate Cake
- Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 3/4 cup cocoa powder, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt. Whisk well to combine.
- Combine Wet Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, mixing gently until just combined. Pour in 1 cup of boiling water and mix again. The batter will be thin, which is normal for this recipe.
- Bake the Cake
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans before removing.
