No words. Really, no words. This cinnamon-sugar donut bread recipe will leave you speechless. It is that good. Moist, sweet and tender with a buttery cinnamon-sugar coating, it is a must-make dessert recipe. And it really tastes like a cinnamon donut!
The bread is made with oil, butter, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking powder, salt, buttermilk and ground cinnamon. Some of the batter is separated and cinnamon is stirred in. The two batters are layered in a loaf pan, then gently swirled together. Bake the bread for about 45 minutes then remove and let it cool. While the bread bakes, put the melted butter for the coating in a shallow dish and the granulated sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon in another shallow dish. The bread takes a bath in the butter and then is completely coated with the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Again, no words.
Don’t have buttermilk? No worries, make this homemade buttermilk! Cinnamon and donut lovers are going to be crazy about this easy donut bread. Serve the sweet bread warm or at room temperature for dessert or as a sweet snack.
