Recipe: Chocolate Rice Krispie Balls
Ingredients:
- 4 cups rice krispies cereal
- 1 package (10 ounces) marshmallows
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Sprinkles or powdered sugar for decorating (optional)
Directions:
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows to the saucepan and stir until melted and smooth.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the rice krispies cereal until well coated.
- Using a greased spoon or your hands, shape the mixture into balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.
- Dip each rice krispie ball into the melted chocolate, coating evenly, then place them back on the baking sheet.
- If desired, decorate the chocolate-coated balls with sprinkles or powdered sugar.
- Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate for faster setting.
