Cheesy Garlic Shrimp Alfredo

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

For the Pasta:

  • 1 pound fettuccine or your preferred pasta
  • Salt for pasta water

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Shrimp

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp and toss to coat.
  6. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta.
