Ingredients
To make our Blissful Banana Pudding Delights, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- Pinch of salt
- 4 large egg yolks
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 (12-ounce) package vanilla wafers
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Recipe Directions
Now that we have our ingredients ready, let’s dive into the recipe directions:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to thicken.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks until smooth. Gradually add a small amount of the hot milk mixture to the egg yolks, whisking constantly to temper them.
- Pour the tempered egg yolks back into the saucepan with the remaining milk mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until the pudding is thick and creamy.
- Remove the pudding from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow the pudding to cool slightly.
- In a trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer the vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding, repeating until all ingredients are used.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the top layer of pudding.
- Cover and refrigerate the banana pudding for at least 2 hours, or until chilled and set.
