Recipe: Best Oven-Baked Ribs
Ingredients:
- 2 racks baby back ribs
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Barbecue sauce (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by using a knife to loosen one corner, then grabbing it with a paper towel and pulling it off.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.
- Rub the dry rub all over the ribs, coating them evenly on both sides.
- Place the ribs on the prepared baking sheet, meat side up, and cover tightly with another sheet of aluminum foil.
- Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until tender and cooked through.
- Remove the foil from the top of the ribs and brush them with barbecue sauce, if desired.
- Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and bake the ribs for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and sticky.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
