10 Ways to Use Fabric Softener That Have Nothing to Do with Laundry

I know fabric softener is meant to be used in our washing machines, but you probably don’t know that this thing can be useful for many other things, just like baking soda or distilled vinegar.

Removes Soap Scum
Showers and bathtubs tend to get soap scum and water stains over time. If you have white or light colored tiles, this will be even more noticeable. Simply apply a little fabric softener to a cloth and wipe it over the soap scum stains. After about 10 minutes, wipe off the fabric softener and rinse.

Remove Stubborn Wallpaper
If you’ve ever tried to remove old wallpaper from a room, you know how difficult it can be. Make it easier by mixing a few tablespoons of fabric softener with water. Apply the solution to the wallpaper with a sponge, then wait about 10 minutes. After that, the wallpaper should come off more easily.

Air Freshener
When used in moderation, fabric softener can act as a deodorizer. Simply mix one part fabric softener, two parts water and a few tablespoons of baking soda in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture around your home to remove odors. Remember to spray in a well-ventilated area or open the windows so the smell doesn’t get too strong.
